The Benge Family Native American Page The Benge Family Native American Page

hi! i have wanted to do this page for a very long time, but it seems that i never know where to start.
i think that this countries native american heritage should be remembered! american indian culture and history has always been a passion of mine.
i have some native american blood running through me, although not much, my children however have quite a bit from my ex-husbands family.
my grandmother from my mothers side was part cherokee i am told, her maiden name was walker and i would love to find out more information about the family. i was once told that i have a great uncle that has quite a bit of information but i do not know how to get ahold of him, or even if he is still living.
my fathers family has lots of irish ancestors. campbell and murphy.
my ex-husband is a benge, one of his ancestors was john benge, who led a band of cherokee on the benge trail of tears.
my ex's mother was also supposed to be of indian descent, she was a creech, and had at one time lived in illinois with a grandmother who was native american (at least that is what i have been told).
i am starting to assemble some links below that may be of interest to you.
